John 3:5-8 (NIV) “Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.' The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit."”
What an amazing statement, “So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” Throw out your best laid plans you human beings. You haven’t got a clue! The Spirit moves wherever the Spirit wants to! We often think in terms of asking the Lord to bring revival, and I believe in praying those prayers. However, when the praying is done and the Spirit begins to move, how much of the movement of the Holy Spirit do we fight against? Maybe we should start praying for the Lord to transform our minds so that we can become truly spiritual beings that don’t fight against what He wants to accomplish through us! Paul wrote, “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” (Romans 12:2, NIV) How can we flow with the Spirit if our minds are still so conformed to the pattern of this world that we can’t distinguish between the move of the Spirit and the move of the flesh? We’ve got some growing in the Spirit to do if we are to experience any true move of God. Death to self, here I come!
Yet, if Jesus said “everyone” we must believe that he meant it. Even the most brand new Christian has the ability to move with the Spirit. Let us not put any restrictions on the Lord and whom he wants to move through! It is his pleasure to confound our wisdom with his wisdom. He is not restricted in any way. If he formed a man out of clay, if he caused a donkey to speak, the Lord can certainly lead through a child or a babe in Christ. May we learn how to recognize the movement of the Spirit and get in the flow while he is moving.
Holy Spirit, lead on! We are ready to move with you! Bring a mighty awakening and revival to our land!
